Good things never came from comfort zones

“ Good things never came from Comfort Zones ” – how fitting for what I’ve just done! In April, I took a step away from everything I knew and loved and started a new adventure working as an intern for O2 Touch for the RFU. An internship was something that I never pictured myself doing while at university. I had a house, a relationship with a guy I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with, and I was going to graduate and set up my own business and be successful. But then reality hit and life took its toll. I moved out of my first home, with my first love and after a lot of heartbreak, insecurity and a lot of advice from, friends, colleagues and family members, I decided that an internship in something that I was inspired to do and interested in, was the best thing in order to get the Ellen that everyone knew, and some loved, back! And I think I’m almost there. Going back to the quote, if I’d have stayed in my “comfort zone” I would still be in my house, unhappy,

Summer Internship!

So it’s been a while since I last wrote, and my last post was a bit of a deep one. So I am going to make this one a little bit more exciting! As a lot of you know, I landed myself the most exciting summer ever! After one of the worst ways to end 2017 and start 2018, I applied for an internship with a company called In2Touch. Based in London, they work alongside the RFU and 02 Touch with England Rugby. I couldn’t have found a more fitting events internship really, a venue manager and event planner intern for In2Touch? I originally wasn’t in a position where I was able to apply for this internship, or any internship, so I told myself that if I didn’t get it –once I applied- then I wouldn’t apply anymore and I would just work my backside off over summer and get as much money as I could. I got invited down for an interview and I thought it went really well, the people that came to interview me were lovely, it felt like more of a conversation than an interview.

Dear me...

This year has probably been the toughest for me, mentally, physically and emotionally and I thought it was time to get it out there how I got through it all. Recently I've learnt a lot about myself and some of the people I shared 2017 with, and I've realised that not everyone that comes into your life is there to stay. So I thought I would write a little letter to remind myself, and anyone else who has just been through one of the hardest times of their life, that no matter what, you are strong, and you cannot let any thing or anyone get in the way, to stop you being the better version of yourself. "Dear you, This time in your life may feel like the worst time, and you may feel like you aren't going to recover and be the person you were before all this happened, but trust me you will. This is just a bump in the road and you will more than likely become a better person that what you were before.  New people are going to come along and you will realise why

Twitter, my top tips

Hi all, me again, this time I’m here to write about who I think you need to have on your twitter feed to keep it varied and interesting, if you’re anything like me, you need to have some sport, comedy, fashion and beauty, along with those little girl accounts that give you boosts on your bad days and those pages that post the best one liners for all of you that love showing your sassy side over your social media. Not everyone will agree or even be bothered about this post or anyone I am posting about regarding my twitter but hey! That’s the beauty of twitter, it’s all about what you’re interested in and all about what you like. Obviously, when it comes to the sport accounts, I follow the people who I either like because of their sport (Scotland Rugby team, Boxing – Ricky Hatton, etc.) so this part of the post may not suit you, but hold up! There are some pages in here that give you all the insight to each and every sport and they have the best juicy news when it’s something as b
